Such a big girl now

Kensington has decided she doesn't like her arms tucked in the swaddling blanket, but she still likes her legs tucked. She's getting too big too fast!

Sean & BB babysat her on Saturday morning and took this picture with her I-Phone. I think it's precious. She must have been having fun!

Well, Kensington is over 5 months old now. We are loving her more and more every day. She has such personality! She's taking 2 good naps a day and sleeping all night, and when she's awake, she is such fun!

Here are a few things I have learned about Kensington Kate:

1. If she is in her stroller, she wants it moving

2. She loves to roll over but not if you are staring at her.

3. She loves her "Manda doll" (Manda gave it to her & her mommy & daddy aren't creative with names), and she loves tucking it under her arm

4. She laughs if you kiss her neck

5. She loves to look in the mirror

6. First thing in the morning, she wants to play and not eat

7. She is not into being rocked, she'd rather you walk around with her

8. She loves going on walks and to the grocery store.

9. Her smile is huge!

10. She melts her daddy's heart

More Peas Please!!!!

Kensington had her first veggie today...needless to say...she loved them!!!!!!!! She is a girl after our own hearts. She loves food!!! She was just too, too cute eating her peas!

On Saturday, Kensington Kate finally got to meet her new bestest friend, Landry Kate. Andrew and I were amazed at all small Landry is compared to Kensington. It's hard to believe that our baby was born even a few ounces smaller...they just get big so fast! Today, Kensington is 5 months old! This time with her has flown by. I fall more and more in love with her every day, as will Kara with her new baby girl.

The women in my family have been eating at this one particular tea room in Arlington since I was a little girl. Well, today we took Miss Kensington. It is always a special treat to eat there with the women I love the most...so today was extra special. We missed you Brooke!

Manda's Prayer Pager

Many of you know that my dear friend Manda is going through a very hard time. Just 6 days after her baby boy Aiden was born, the doctors discovered that she had cancer in her leg. Now, two weeks later, they have decided to move forward and remove her leg and begin the journey that will include chemo and radiation. We have given Manda a pager and every time you pray for her, her husband Aaron or baby Aiden, please send her a page to let her know. The Conservative Mommy

Over the last few months, I have noticed many moms using their blogs as platforms for their opinions. It has been very interesting for me to read these blogs of different women from around the country. After much prayer, I decided that my very opinionated self also wanted to blog about my thoughts on our country, its president and the role of moms in shaping the future. However, I don't feel comfortable using my family blog for this outlet, so I created www.theconservativemommy.com. If you find this blog offensive, boring, ignorant or a waste of time...don't read it. If you agree with me about issues or topics, leave a comment and share some of your opinions and/or resources with me about surviving a liberal world as a conservative person.

The Conservative Mommy is simply an outlet for me to express my opinions and flex my journalism degree that has been sitting on the shelf for five years. I am not a political wizard and don't pretend to think I know everything. All I know is that I'm tired of compromising my beliefs because it's not "PC" to be conservative.

This is the one and only time you will see me talk about it here on the family blog.

I know I'm not alone. I know there are other Conservative women out there that are fed up with the way our country is going and have a lot to say about the subject. I look forward to reading your thoughts!

Daddy bought this when he went to Boston for a game in August. At the time, he didn't know if a little boy or little girl would be wearing it.

My dad declined in giving Kensington a bath because "he needed 5 minutes to himself". This kind of behavior isn't normal for Papa Jay...so of course the 3 of us milked it for all it's worth taking pictures and telling him it was the most fun bath Kensington has ever had. We're so mean.

Since Kara is a new mommy, Landry's Aunt Dani posted the pictures on her blog. It was so special to be a part of the day with both Tim and Kara's families. Kensington and I are so glad that Landry Kate is here to play! We love you girls!

1. I eat dry cereal at least twice a day. I love to fill a bowl with dry cereal & munch away as a snack.
2. I go to Starbucks every day
3. If I don't get my "coffee & morning news" time in the morning, my day is ruined
4. I write down 5 things I am grateful for every day in a journal. This is my 12th year to do it, so I have 5 things from every, single day of my life written down in 12 journals in my closet. They're fun to flip back through and read.
5. I almost married the wrong person for me
6. Six days after breaking up with that other person, I met Andrew Shull for the first time
7. I knew I wanted to marry Andrew after our first "date"
8. Our first date was dinner after a KSU football game with both sets of our parents, both sets of my grandparents and my brother...I have a picture...a first date with your entire family...romantic, right?
9. I love to write out my grocery list. I categorize it by area of the grocery store.
10. I used to speak fluent French. It was my minor in college & I studied it for 6 years. If I'm in France, I pick it back up pretty quickly but I am pretty rusty here in the US.
11. I have been to France 3 times
12. I have traveled abroad a lot (thanks to my wonderful parents and sweet husband)
13. When I was 20, I traveled Italy with a friend of mine...we had a blast
14. I used to work for WFAA-TV Channel 8 in Dallas...it was an interesting career
15. I took ballet for 15 years
16. I can still do the splits
17. I love to wear jewelry but never wear it at my house
18. As soon as I get home, I put on sweat pants and take off my jewelry
19. I check www.people.com every day for celebrity gossip...I don't know why????
20. My favorite hobby is reading magazines. I subscribe to 6 and squeal with delight when they arrive in the mail
21. I collect books and art from my travels. I think a home should tell a story
22. When people send me emails, I correct their grammar in my head. I have a degree in Journalism and can't stop myself
23. I love paying my bills. I get pleasure in writing checks and putting them in the mail.
24. I have had the same checking account for 11 years
25. I love football!!! So, now I have to go and watch the Super Bowl. Go Cardinals!!
